The new Icon Lock-iT XP! has indeed grown wings with the
introduction of an incredibly useful new feature. Now you
have the ability to lock a file or folder, with its folder
structure intact, in such a way that it remains transportable.
Although the traditional Copy,
Move, and Delete restrictions remain in place, you can
now choose to make some or all of your files into self-extracting
executables you are then free to distribute, copy, and carry
without breaching their security even for a moment.

| Here's how it works. When you right-click on
a file or folder to lock it and before you enter your password,
you will now have the option to choose "Create self-decrypting
file". Instead of simply locking your file or folder, the
new Icon Lock-iT XP will transform it into a self-extracting
executable with a unique icon and an .exe file extension. This
executable can be sent to a third party, placed on a CD or floppy
for distribution or sale or safe transport from home to work,
or placed in a shared folder. Only those that have been provided
with your security password can open the file, even if the information
should fall into the wrong hands or under the wrong eyeballs. |

How Does it Work?
Your portable file is protected using the
same high level of encryption, but also transformed into a
"self-decryptor." When your intended recipient receives
the file, on whatever medium you've saved it, they simply
open the file. When prompted for the password, they enter
it exactly, and the executable self-decrypts. Unlike other
common self-extracting files, it remains truly encrypted.
Your password is not included anywhere in the file. Most conveniently,
our intended recipient does not have to have their own copy
of Icon Lock-iT XP! to open the file! So send your files a-flapping,
they'll have a safe journey!
