How Secure Do You Want It?
The new Lock-iT XP! uses the strongest encryption available,
Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) approved. Enjoy faster,
much more secure encryption, the strongest on the market.
This is the stuff, and by that we mean The Stuff. This level
of encryption is what is now approved for governmental use
to protect their sensitive (unclassified) information from
prying eyes. Your files are no less important. Respect their
privacy.
For those of you concerned your machine cannot support this
level of encryption, rest easy. The new Lock-iT XP is backwards
compatible (will use the standard 40-bit encryption if that
is how your computer is configured), but can also support
up to a 256-bit key size! Help your computer help you by getting
the most out of its encryption capabilities.

Curious how good it gets? According to the National
Institute of Standards and Technology's web site it would
take a code cracking machine approximately 149 thousand-billion
(149 trillion) years to crack a 128-bit AES key. Our friendly
universe is believed to be less than 20 billion years old,
so lock up!
